The purpose of this theme is to study Olympic values and the Olympic Games and their significance in the
Arab region. Arab countries encounter with the olympics offer a number of venues for research about sport
and state-formation, sport politics, and elite sport development, to name but a few. Arab athletes , officials
and coaches’ (male and female) presence/ participation in the olympics is yet to be studied to make sence
of their life histories compared to that of different historical trajectories of Arab nations.
