Ethics and Sport

Ethics in sport is a growing topic of interest in international sports. Many countries adopt laws to
protect the athlete for several ethical problems such as bullying, psychological and physical
harassment, sexual harassment, gender issues, racism, discrimination, doping, issues dealing with
disabilities, and others. Specifically, in 1992 the European Union has agreed on a European Sport
Charter and Code of Sports Ethics influencing the commitment of public authorities to healthy sport
in Europe and all over the world. This thematic group was created to give the members information
and tools to deal with ethics in sport. Also, it is a space where members can share their articles and
experiences on this issue. It is our purpose to increase awareness of ethics in Arab sports and to
empower athletes, parents, coaches, referees, clubs and sports federations. This thematic group is
organised by Caroline Jannes (general ethics), Aurélie Ledon (woman and sport, sport and disability),
and Michel Pautôt (Codes of Conduct, Justice). Please take contact with Caroline if you want to

Ethique et sport

L’Ethique dans le sport est un thème qui se developpe fortement dans le pays autour du monde.
Plusieures pays ont adapté leurs lois afin de protéger l’athlète contre les problèmes éthiques come
l’harcelèment psychologique, physique ou sexuele, les problèmes homme-femme, le racisme, la
discrimination, le dopage, problèmes avec les gens handicapés, ou autres. Par exemple, l’Union
Européen a adopte une Charte d’Ethique de Sport Européene en 1992 qui a influencé les authorités
publiques en Europe en dans le monde a s’engager pour garantir la santé et la sécurité dans le sport.
Notre groupe thématique a été conçu pour donner des informations et des outils pour les membres.
En plus, nos membres peuvent contribuer à leur tour en partageant leurs articles ou leur questions.
C’est notre but d’élargir la connaissance sur l’éthique dans les sports du monde Arabe et d’habiliter
les athlètes, parents, entraîneurs, juges, clubs et fédérations sportives. Ce groupe thématique est
organisé par Caroline Jannes (Ethique générale), Aurélie Ledon (femme et sport, sport et handicap)
